BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: November 17, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Application to become Vocational Rehabilitation Vendor to provide Transit services DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Growth Management is requesting approval of the Vocational Rehabilitation (Voc. Rehab)Vendor Application to provide transit services to Voc. Rehab for an agreed upon reimbursement rate. BACKGROUND: Prior to October 1st, Okaloosa County Transit contracted with Vocational Rehabilitation Services directly to provide public transportation services to their clients. Approval of the Voc. Rehab. Vendor application will allow the County to become a direct Vendor to provide transit trips and bill Voc. Rehab directly. The reimbursement rate is the approved Community Transportation Coordination (CTC) rate of $1.35 ambulatory per trip and $2.32 wheelchair per trip. OPTIONS: Approve or disprove the request to become a Vendor to provide and bill trips provided for Vocational Rehabilitation Services at the approved CTC reimbursement rates. RECOMMENDATIONS: The Department recommends approval of the Vocational Rehabilitation Vendor Application to provide transit services at the approved CTC reimbursement rate. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
