STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Growth Management requests to amend the Contract with Maruti
Fleet & Management to add the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD)
required statement pertaining to Payment to Subcontractors.
BACKGROUND: Okaloosa County is a recipient of Trip & Equipment funds from the Florida
CTD. The CTD Grant stipulates that each third party contract from the Grantee (Okaloosa
County) to a subcontractor for goods or services to be performed in whole or in part with TD
Funds must contain language pertaining to Payment to Subcontractors. This language is in
compliance with Section 287.0585 Florida Statutes. This amendment would amend the Contract
with Maruti Fleet & Management adding the required statement to Contract #C15-2323-GM.
The amendment does not change the scope of services being provided pursuant to Contract
#C15-2323-GM, nor does it change the grant amounts or budget for transportation services.
However, as it is the intention to utilize CTD grant funds to cover applicable expenses incurred
since October 1, 2015, the recommended action is that the approval be made effective as of
October 1, 2015. In addition, the signing date of the Agreement, currently shown as October 30,
2015, must be amended to November 17, 2015.
OPTIONS: Approve or disapprove the amendment to Maruti Fleet & Management Contract.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board approve and authorize the
Chairman to sign Amendment #1 to Maruti's Contract #C15-2323-GM to allow adding the CTD
required language to the contract, and that its effective date be October 1, 2015, and that its
signing date be amended to show November 17, 2015.
