BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 15, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Paul Lawson SUBJECT: Direct Payment of Neverfail Invoice DEPARTMENT: Public Safety BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval for direct payment of the Neverfail invoice in the amount of $8,573.04. BACKGROUND: Neverfail software is utilized on the Public Safety County Warning Point and 911 Dispatch servers. The software ensures continuity of services via data replication and automated failover procedures; if one server fails, the other server continues to operate services without interruption. Neverfail maintains a local standby server in complete application synchronization with the primary server. The $3,175.20 invoice for software and maintenance was not received originally in 2014; however, we continued to utilize this service on our servers, thus the need to pay the one year in arrears. The current year service for 2015 is $3,175.20 is requested to be paid, as well. Neverfail is offering the County to pay a year in advance at the same cost, $3,175.20, with a discount of $952.66, for a total cost of $8,573.04. There is available funding in the FY15 budget to pay for the services. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Recommend approval of direct payment for the Neverfail invoice.
