RESOLUTION NO. 15-
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA,
APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE OKALOOSA COUNTY
TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes, the Board of County
Commissioners (“Board”) adopted Ordinance 89-23 in 1989 and established the Okaloosa
County Tourist Development Council (“Council”); and
WHEREAS, in Resolution 13-61, the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners
(“Board”) appointed members to serve on the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council
(“Council™); and
WHEREAS, the terms for three (3) non-elected seats expire September 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Board appointed a Selection Committee to review and recommend
qualified candidates to appoint to the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Selection Committee convened a duly noticed public meeting on
August 19, 2015, and recommended the appointment of the individuals listed below; and
WHEREAS, the Board now desires to affirm the selection of and appoint the members
to serve on the Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of
Okaloosa County, Florida, that:
SECTION 1. RECITALS. The above recitals are true and correct and are hereby
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. APPOINTMENT OF NON-ELECTED OFFICIAL COUNCIL
MEMBERS. The Board hereby appoints the following persons to serve as non-elected official
members of the Council for a four (4) year term starting October 1, 2015 and ending September
30, 2019:
(1) MARTIN OWEN, Lodging Industry Owner/Operator
(2) THOM GOSSOM, JR., Tourism Related Industry Member
(3) MELISSA MATERN, Tourism Related Industry Member
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall become effective upon its
approval.
DULY ADOPTED THIS 15" DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2015.
