BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 21, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Laura Porter SUBJECT: RFP for Flexible Spending Account Administrative Services DEPARTMENT: Human Resources BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval to advertise a Request for Proposals for flexible spending account administrative services and appoint a selection committee to review the submissions. BACKGROUND: The flexible spending account program is an Internal Revenue Service qualified benefit that allows employees to set aside income on a pre-tax basis to be used for qualifying medical and child care expenses. Currently the flexible spending account administrator is Kenny Anderson with Lockard & Williams Insurance Services, P.A. The existing contract has been in place since October 1, 2009, and the final renewal expires on September 30, 2015. Staff recommends the following individuals be appointed to serve on the selection committee: GinNeal McVay, Human Resources Interim Director or designee; Shari Bruns, Director of Human Resources - Tax Collector; and Laura Porter, Risk Manager. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Authorize staff to proceed with advertising a Request for Proposals for Flexible Spending Account Administrative Services; 2) Appoint the staff recommended selection committee to review the submissions.
