State grant funds from the
Okaloosa County Board of
County Commissioners for a
drainage project at Davidson
Middle School.
Public Content
The Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners would like to redirect
to the School District grant funding for a drainage project located at
Davidson Middle School.
The County was awarded grant funding for storm shelter improvements in
the amount of $78,055.00 for a drainage project at Davidson Middle School.
The County has requested that the School Board receive these funds,
manage and administer the grant as stated in the provisions of the
Agreement (see attached.) Grant funds will be used for retrofit
improvement of Building 1’s existing site drainage system and will also be
used for the design and construction of site drainage improvements to
prevent rainwater ponding and flood intrusion into Building 1 entrance
including a 15 year maintenance plan that will be a "0" cost. The fifteen (15)
year maintenance will be part of the lawn care contract that currently
maintains this area.
The State has agreed to adjust the completion date requirements upon
approval to redirect the funding to the Okaloosa County School Board.
Additionally, we are also requesting additional funds in the amount of
$7,222.00 to secure the retention area with fencing.
