BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request Approval of Quote for Tire Waste Removal DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval of quote from Little Tire Hauling for tire waste removal. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Public Works Recycling staff requested that quotes be solicited to acquire a vendor to remove waste tires. The request for quotes was advertised on the Purchasing website as well as the Florida Purchasing Group. Little Tire Hauling, Inc. was the sole response to the quote process. A contract will be prepared and Board approval will be requested. The proposed contract term will be for a two (2) year period with four (4) additional one (1) year optional periods at the same terms and conditions. The initial two (2) year term of the contract value is $24,000. However, due to the proposed optional terms of the contract, the cumulative total could exceed $50,000, therefore, staff requests Board approval of the quote. The budgeted amount for this contract is $12,000 annually. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny award of quote to Little Tire Hauling, Inc.
