We have already been working closely with the Sheriffs Office regarding their space needs, as part of the Shalimar Annex design-build project. This project has been evolving over the past two years, as you look for the most efficient and cost effective ways to consolidate County offices and provide space for current functions and future expansion. DAG Architects is based in Okaloosa County and has been operating here continuously for 33 years. We have designed numerous office buildings, public safety centers, and law enforcement facilities similar in nature fo that proposed. We are already familiar with the site and the needs of the Sheriff's Office, not only through our work exploring reuse of the Shalimar Annex property, but also because we designed the renovations to the space they currently occupy. Our staff is local, experienced and seasoned, with an average of 27 years of professional work history to draw upon. We pride ourselves on our responsiveness, our design abilities, and our track record of bringing in projects on budget and within their schedules. We have augmented our experience with several very well-qualified local consulting firms, essentially the same team that has been working together on the Shalimar Annex project. Choctaw Engineering will be civil engineers, Humber-Garick will provide electrical engineering, Watford Engineering will be our mechanical engineer, and RAC Engineering will be structural engineer. We have worked closely with ail of these firms on many other projects, and are confident in their abilities to provide excellent solutions. Choctaw and Humber-Garick are also Okaloosa County-based firms. Project Team | will lead the design team as overall Principal in Charge. | have been responsible for conducting programming sessions and other meetings with many Okaloosa County departments on space needs and planning for replacement facilities at the Shalimar Annex. As a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County, a former Destin City Councilman and former State Senator from this district, | am intimately familiar with the county facilities and the importance played in our community by the Sheriffs Office. | have worked closely with Major J.D. Peacock, head of administration, to quantify the space needs and adjacencies necessary Okaloosa County January 17, 2014 Page three Location, Ability to Perform and Current Workload Our Destin office on Airport Road will be the base for managing this project, and given our current and projected project commitments, we can fully staff and shepherd this work from start to finish. As long-standing members and residents of Okaloosa County, we understand the critical importance to our local economy of making sure our facilities are well-maintained and reflective of our communities. We will be careful shepherds of county funds since many of us are also local taxpayers. And providing work to local businesses and residents sends a positive message to other businesses already in the area or considering relocating here. | hope that the enclosed material will demonstrate fo you our abilities, our attention to detail, and our commitment to excellence in design and client services.
