Vehicles Sales and Service, Inc., for $518,595.00 from the Florida State Sheriff’s Bid #15-11-
00116 Specification #4.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Request approval to purchase 3 new 2016 Ford E-450
Demers MX164E Type III ambulances from the Florida State Sheriff’s Bid #15-11-00116
Specification #4 from Quality Emergency Vehicle Sales and Service, Inc., (Lecanto, FL) at a
cost of $172,865.00 each for a total of $518,595.00. (The Florida State Sheriff’s Bid #15-11-
00116 is a competitive bid open to all state and local agencies.) The ambulances are equipped
with the added features of a curbside safety mobility seat with retractable harness and the Stryker
power load mounting system (required by Florida Department of Transportation for all units
built after July 1, 2015). Funding for this purchase is provided for in the Emergency
Management Services FY16 budget, account #s 4500-564211 and 4500-564202.
