DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Tucker Cab of Pensacola, Ft. Walton & Destin is requesting a "Letter of Intent" stating that the County, as the local Community Transportation Coordinator, would enter into a standard Florida Department of Transportation Coordination Agreement such as the sample attached, if Tucker Cab's grant application is approved by FDOT. BACKGROUND: Tucker Cab of Pensacola, Ft. Walton & Destin is applying for a 5310 Grant (Transportation for Elderly Persons and Persons with Disabilities) from FDOT. One requirement for grant approval is the requesting agency is required to enter into and maintain a Coordination Agreement with the current Community Transportation Coordinator. This Letter of Intent indicates that the County as the CTC, will enter into a Coordination Agreement with Tucker Cab upon grant approval and the understanding that all FDOT and other applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines are met and adhered to, including maintenance, insurance, and safety requirements. OPTIONS: Approve or disapprove the letter of intent to enter into a Coordination Agreement with Tucker Transportation upon Grant approval and adherence to FDOT and other rules and regulations. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval of the Letter of Intent for the County, as the CTC, to enter into a Coordination Agreement when stated conditions and requirements are met.
