AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: November 1, 2016
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Zan Fedorak
SUBJECT: Request approval of the First Amendment with Taylor Engineering
DEPARTMENT: Purchasing
BCC DISTRICT: ALL
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of First Amendment to the contract with Taylor
Engineering for coastal and environment engineering services. (C14-2117-TDD).
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The County currently has a contract with Taylor Engineering
for coastal and environment engineering services. The contract will expire on November 21,
2016, however, the contract has optional renewals. Staff and the contractor desire to exercise the
renewal of the contract for an additional 2 years. Recent legislative action requires that language
regarding public records request be added to all contracts that will be valid after July 1, 2016.
Staff is incorporating the language as an amendment and including the contract renewal option
within the document. Staff requests approval of the Amendment and renewal to extend the
contract to November 20, 2018 and also requests authorization for the Chairman to sign the
document.

2117-TDD).
