The Okaloosa County School District recognizes the intensity and pace at which the field of artificial intelligence is advancing and has
identified a gap in K-12 education. OCSD is intent on developing a transformational program that produces students with industry-
recognized credentials in AI and related fields that will provide them with more access to careers that are evolving.
The OCSD will develop and implement a model program in Artificial Intelligence that will produce industry certifications for K-12 students.
In order to do so, the OCSD will engage Ben Shuman to act as an independent consultant, in coordination with designated
representatives from both University of Florida and Okaloosa County School District, and shall provide master planning and research for
Artificial Intelligence Learning Institutes initiative. Additionally, the Mr. Shuman will work with any other parties that OCSD deems
appropriate for the success of this project.
