The District has distributed stipends for materials and supplies to eligible PreK-12 classroom
teachers and other specific instructional staff pursuant to Florida Statutes 1012.71(1). The
funding source is provided by the State through the Florida Teachers Classroom Supply
Assistance Program categorical allocation. The State does not provide funding for Adult
Vocational Teachers, Behavior Analysts, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, School
Psychologists, Social Workers, and Staffing Specialists.
Based on past practice, the District recommends that eligible employees in the above
referenced positions, which are ineligible pursuant to F.S. 1012.71(1), receive a stipend
equivalent to the amount distributed to eligible Florida Teachers Classroom Supply
Assistance Program positions. The proposed stipends will be funded from various General
Fund itinerant projects, Fixed Charges (in lieu of Federal), and Workforce Development. The
estimated total cost is $13,934.25. These employees shall use the stipend for the purpose of
purchasing materials and supplies consistent with the rules and requirements of the Florida
Teachers Classroom Supply Assistance Program. The amounts to be distributed are as
follows:
Stipend Per Full Time - $275.00
Stipend Per Half Time - $137.50
