BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Purchasing staff requests Board approval to request quotes in lieu of bids for sheet pilings that are needed for a project on South Avenue. Purchasing staff have researched the available vendors and there is a very limited number. It will be advantageous to the County to contact these vendors directly to achieve the greatest competition possible. We will also advertise the quote on our website to ensure all possible vendors are aware of the solicitation. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny issuing quotes in lieu of bids for sheet piling that is needed for a project on South Avenue. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends issuing quotes in lieu of bids for sheet piling that is needed for a project on South Avenue. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
