STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of Amendment 1 with Tommy Mattonie’s Poboys
and Floribbean Tacos, LLC and renewal of the lease.(L12-0395-BCC)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On November 1, 2012, Okaloosa County entered into an
agreement with Tommy Mattonie’s to lease property located off of Beachview Drive., N.E. Fort
Walton Beach, Florida. The original agreement did not provide clear terms of the agreement
and clarification has been provided in Amendment 1. This lease has renewals with the final
renewal expiring on October 31, 2017. Mr. Tom Garner, owner of Tommy Mattonie’s, has
agreed to the amendment and wishes to renew the lease for an additional year through October
31, 2016. Staff requests approval of the contract amendment and the renewal and authorization
for the Chairman to sign both documents. With signatures the renewal and amendment would
have an effective date of November 1, 2015.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny Amendment 1 and renewal of the lease with Tommy Mattonie’s and
authorization for the Chairman to sign the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of Amendment 1 and renewal of the lease
with Tommy Mattonie’s and authorization for the Chairman to sign the document.
