BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 18, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: James Puckett SUBJECT: Public Event Permit - MDA Boot Drive DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: James Poirrier, representing the Emerald Coast Professional Firefighters Council is requesting a Public Event Permit to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. BACKGROUND: The event will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In event of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2015. The boot drive will take place at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 98 and Santa Rosa Blvd on Okaloosa Island. This is part of the big drive each year for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This request has been coordinated with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Services. All permit requirements have been met. OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval for a Public Event Permit for the Muscular Dystropy Association Foot Drive as submitted by James Poirrier. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
