Villani SUBJECT: Interlocal Agreement for Automatic Mutual Aid Between Area Fire and Public Safety Departments DEPARTMENT: Public Safety BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the Interlocal Agreement for Automatic Mutual Aid between Area Fire and Public Safety Departments. BACKGROUND: Since 2008, Okaloosa County Department of Public Safety has participated in the Agreement for Automatic Mutual Aid between Area Fire Departments and Department of Public Safety by providing mutual aid ALS response and transport when requested to assist in emergencies that endanger life or property. The agreement has been updated to reflect corrections of typographical errors, deletion of required Hazardous Materials fees for participating agencies, and the addition of “Interlocal Agreement” to the title. The agreement is intended to maximize resources to ensure availability of advanced life support, emergency fire and Hazardous Materials response to citizens of Okaloosa County as well as jurisdictions immediately beyond Okaloosa County borders during periods of high demand for emergency 911 services or for a disaster situation. This agreement has no funding requirement and coordinates the participation of all named agencies under one contract document. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove.
