BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: May 17, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Purchase Ambulance from State Contract DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval to purchase an ambulance from the Florida Sheriff’s Association Contract #FSA16-VEF12.0 for a total cost of $108,310. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Public Safety requested the purchase of a new Ford Type II Transit mid-roof ambulance. Staff researched the availability of the ambulance on the Florida Sheriff’s Association (FSA) Contract #FSA16-VEF12.0. Quality Emergency Vehicles is an awarded vendor for the FSA contract and has an ambulance specified that meets the needs of Public Safety. The base price of $103,425 is noted on specification #4 of the FSA contract and there are added features that make up the additional $4885 for the total price of $108,310. Staff requests approval to purchase a new Ford Type II Transit mid-roof ambulance from Quality Emergency Vehicles based on the FSA Contract #FSA16-VEF12.0 for a total price of $108,310 with the added features. The Purchasing Policy allows for purchases to be made from State contracts without further negotiations. Purchasing staff has verified that the funding is available for the purchase. The purchase has also been approved by the Fleet Department. A requisition will be processed for the purchase of the ambulance if/when the Board approves. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the purchase of a new Ford Type II Transit mid-roof ambulance from the FSA contract #FSA16-VEF12.0 for a total cost of $108,310 from Quality Emergency Vehicles. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the purchase of a new Ford Type II Transit mid-roof ambulance from the FSA contract #FSA16-VEF12.0 for a total cost of $108,310 from Quality Emergency Vehicles.
