STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the First Amendment to the Carter’s
Contracting Services, Inc. contract. (C16-2396-PW)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On April 25, 2016, the Board approved a contract with
Carter’s Contracting Services, Inc. for the Gap Creek Stormwater Improvement Project. This
contract is for construction that is funded by a Department of Environmental Protection Grant
(G0326). The grant requires that language pertaining to record access and retention be addressed
within the contract. The referenced First Amendment to the contract will add the required
language. Also, recent legislative action requires that language regarding public records request
be added to all contracts that will be valid after July 1, 2016. Staff is incorporating the required
grant and legislative language within this amendment. Staff requests Board authorization for the
Chairman to sign the document.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the First Amendment to the Carter’s Contracting Services, Inc.
contract and authorize Chairman to sign the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the First Amendment to the Carter’s
Contracting Services, Inc. contract and authorize Chairman to sign the document.
