STATEMENT OF ISSUE: [FM] Request approval of the Design-Build Contract with Exhibits
with AJAX for the Remodeling/Expansion Project at the Crestview Courthouse.
BACKGROUND: At the March 4, 2014, BCC meeting, the Board authorized staff to enter into
negotiations with AJAX to establish the fee schedule for the Design-Build Services contract on
the Crestview Courthouse Remodeling/Expansion Project. Once negotiations were completed,
staff was directed to bring the proposed fee schedule back to the Board for approval, once
negotiations were completed
The complete contract documents, with exhibits, are attached. Exhibit C of the attached contract
documents provides the fee schedule and a breakdown of the fees into the individual services to
be provided. The fees were based on a not to exceed $8,000,000 project scope.
RECOMMENDATIONS: (FM) Request approval of the Design-Build Contract, with Exhibits,
with AJAX for the Remodeling/Expansion Project at the Crestview Courthouse and authorize the
Chairman to execute all necessary documents and to authorize $175,000 from 301-3160-599300
to fund the initial phase of the design work.
