STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to award a bid to Floridian Construction for
removal, replacement and painting of the exterior siding of the Okaloosa Island Visitors Center
for $55,750.00.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Tourist Development Department requested a bid for the
removal, replacement and painting of the exterior siding of the Okaloosa Island Visitors Center.
The submittals were due March 11th, 2015 and two (2) respondents submitted bids. The Tourist
Development Department and Facilities Maintenance staff have reviewed the bids and
determined that Floridian Construction was the lowest most responsive bidder at $55,750.00.
Staff requests approval to award the bid to Floridian Construction for the removal, replacement
and painting of the exterior siding of the Okaloosa Island Visitors Center.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny to award the bid to Floridian Construction for the removal,
replacement and painting of the exterior siding of the Okaloosa Island Visitors Center for
$55,750.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to award a bid to Floridian Construction
for removal, replacement and painting of the exterior siding of the Okaloosa Island Visitors
Center for $55,750.00.
