BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 1, 2014 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: [PUR] Seeking Board Approval to Auction Surplus Items – Ceiling Tiles DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Purchasing seeks authorization from the Board to auction ceiling tiles from the Shalimar Annex. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: During the current auction process it was brought to our attention that bidders were interested in purchasing the ceiling tiles from within the Shalimar Annex. These tiles were not included on the previous surplus items lists which were presented for approval. Purchasing is seeking authorization from the Board to auction the ceiling tiles through our contracted auctioneer Global Enterprises (C14-2104-PUR). The auction of the tiles will be done with a quick turn-around to attempt to complete the auction and pick-up of all items as soon as possible to prepare the building for demolition. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove auction of surplus ceiling tiles from the Shalimar Annex through Global Enterprises.
