BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: March 3, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Contract Approval with FleetCo for Trolley Rehabilitation DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: [PUR] Request Board approval of contract with Specialty Vehicles Southeast, Inc. - FleetCo and authorize the Chairman to sign the contract. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On February 3, 2015 the Board approved award of the bid for the rehabilitation of two trolleys to Specialty Vehicles Southeast, Inc - FleetCo. The contract has been prepared and is ready for the Chairman’s signature. Staff requests approval of the contract and authorization for the Chairman to sign. This contract includes the requirements for the rehabilitation of two (2) trolleys. The bid for this work was based on a visual inspection of the trolleys. This visual inspection may not have revealed hidden damage that will need to be addressed. The bid states that once this project is underway and reveals that any requirements cannot be met that a designated representative of Okaloosa County and Fleetco, Inc. will mutually agree on a substitute procedure to be used. The vendor estimates costs per trolley to be $89,318.75 for a total of cost of $178,637.50 for both trolleys. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny contract with Specialty Vehicles Southeast, Inc. - FleetCo and authorization of the Chairman to sign the contract. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the contract with Specialty Vehicles Southeast, Inc. - FleetCo and authorization of the Chairman to sign the contract.
