SUBJECT: Final Payment - Bill Smith Electric, Inc. Contract

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: OCWS staff requests BCC approval of a final payment in the
amount of $39,466.20 to Bill Smith Electric, Inc. on contract #C14-2145-WS.
BACKGROUND: Via the County's formal bidding process, Okaloosa County Water & Sewer
entered into a contract with Bill Smith Electric, Inc. in February 2014 for the rehabilitation of the
electrical manholes at the Russell Stephenson Water Reclamation Facility. The amended
contract has a substantial completion date of 8/10/2014. Construction was substantially
complete by that date. Additionally, all work concerning this project has been completed. Final
inspections by OCWS staff and consultants have been conducted, and the work is deemed
sufficient. Now that all work has been completed and deemed sufficient, final payment is now
due on the contract.
OPTIONS: Approve or deny.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends BCC approval of a final payment in the amount of
$39,466.20 to Bill Smith Electric, Inc. on contract #C14-2145-WS.
