STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Purchasing requests Board approval to auction vehicles and
equipment through Global Auction Company (C14-2104-PUR).
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The County currently has vehicles and equipment that are no
longer being used by County staff or have reached the end of their useful life. The vehicles and
equipment have been processed through the Fleet Department and have been prepared for
disposal. Staff is requesting to auction these vehicles and equipment through Global Auction
Company. The proceeds from these auctions will be returned to the appropriate County budgets
to enhance funding for future projects and services. Staff also requests that the vehicles and
equipment be authorized to be removed from the fixed asset ledger upon receiving proper
documentation of the sale and receipt of the sale proceeds. Please reference the attached list of
all items to be auctioned.
OPTIONS: (1) Approve/Deny auction of vehicles and equipment which have reached their
useful life or are no longer being utilized by County staff through Global Auction Company. (2)
Staff requests authorization to remove the vehicles and equipment from the fixed asset ledger
upon receiving proper documentation and receipt of the sale proceeds.
RECOMMENDATION: (1) Staff recommends approval to auction vehicles and equipment
which have reached their useful life or are no longer being utilized by County staff through
Global Auction Company. (2) Staff recommends authorization to remove the vehicles and
equipment from the fixed asset ledger upon receiving proper documentation and receipt of the
sale proceeds.
