Dear Ms. Cardreon,
This year marks the 36" year the Special Forces Association, Chapter 7 has held its
annual Jingle Bell Jog 10k/5k running race. This year also marks the 4" year the event is
held in Northwest Florida since our organization relocated from Fayetteville, N.C. along with
the 7" Special Forces Group (Airborne). 100 percent of the proceeds from this event are
used by our organization to support the families of the 7" Special Forces Group (Airborne),
with particular emphasis on providing support to our fallen Soldiers who made the ultimate
sacrifice.
lpm
This year’s event will take place on December 13, 2014 from 8-arn to 12-am in
Okaloosa Island. We would like to apply for the applicable permits from the Okaloosa
County Board of Commissioners to conduct our race on the following roads:
Beginning at The Boardwalk main entrance, run (east) on US 98 using both
eastbound lanes until the designated turnaround point, which is just under a mile west of the
Eglin AFB Beach entrance. The runners will then turn around and use the same route back
to the finish point, which is located in The Boardwalk parking lot.
Additionally, we will secure the required permits from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's
Office and the Florida Department of Transportation. We will apply for liability insurance with
a $1,000,000.00 aggregate to cover any injuries or property damages. Our volunteers will
wear red shirts with white letters across the upper back with the word “VOLUNTEER”. We
will also have a medical team on hand during the event.
We are honored to be part of this community and thank you for your consideration.
