BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Public Works - FM/Parks requested to purchase an
agriculture type tractor for beach cleaning. Purchasing staff has received a quote from Smith
Tractor Company, Incorporated based on the Florida State Contract (FL Ag & Lawn Equipment
21100000-15-1). The Purchasing Policy states that State contract prices may be used without
further negotiations. Staff has reviewed the quote to ensure that it meets the required
specifications. The funding for this tractor has been verified with the department. Staff requests
Board approval to purchase a John Deere 5058E Utility Tractor from Smith Tractor Company,
Inc. based on the Florida State Contract for $53,561.62.
