BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 1, 2014 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Sunil Harman SUBJECT: [Airports] Eglin AFB ARFF Facility-RFQ's & Review Committee for Constuction Administartion DEPARTMENT: Airport BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board of County Commissioners is requested to approve the request to solicit Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) and proposals for construction, administration and inspection services for the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Station on Eglin AFB. Staff also requests approval of the following members as a Qualifications Review Committee: 1. Airports Director 2. Airports Deputy Director 3. EAFB Fire Chief 4. Purchasing Agent The County's Purchasing Department will coordinate the process and serve as a facilitator for any meetings of the review committee. BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners approved the ARFF design on 4/16/13 and approved the construction award to Birkshire Inc. On 12/17/13. The Board of County Commissioners approved the Chairman to sign the construction contracts on 2/18/14. OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the request to solicit RFQ's for construction administration and inspection services for the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Station on Eglin AFB and appoint members to a review committee as described.
