BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 15, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: DFCD Contract Amendment DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request amendment of the interlocal agreement with the Destin Fire Control District (C14-2086-TDD) for one-time capital funding for an ATV and lifeguard tower in the amount of $34,216. BACKGROUND: The Destin Fire Control District receives an amount equal to that which is budgeted and appropriated by the Board of County Commissioners to the Okaloosa County Beach Safety Division for the provision of beach safety and lifeguards services. The amount budgeted for FY 2015 is $519,157. The District has requested one-time capital funding for a lifeguard tower ($22,216) and ATV ($12,000). Backup documentation for the purchases has been provided and a contract amendment prepared. The Tourist Development Council approved this contract amendment at its August 27 meeting. OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove RECOMMENDATION: Approve an amendment to the Destin Fire Control District interlocal agreement (C14-2086-TDD) for one-time capital funding in the amount of $34,216 for an ATV and lifeguard tower, and authorize the Chairman to sign.
