BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 5, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Allison Mikel, Court Administration First Judicial Circuit of Florida SUBJECT: Court Administration First Judicial Circuit of Florida - Request for Reserve Funding STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Court Administration is requesting $7,200 in funds be moved within their current Court Technology budget from the Repair & Maintenance line item to the Machinery & Equipment line item in order to purchase network switching equipment and a laptop for the judicial move from the Crestview courthouse to the Water and Sewer building in January, 2016. BACKGROUND: The Judiciary will begin the process of moving from the Crestview courthouse to the Water & Sewer building in January, 2016. Network switching equipment is needed to connect the Water & Sewer building to the existing judicial network so the judges and court staff will have access to their electronic files and email. In addition, a laptop is needed because one of the judges will be required to work and travel to several different court locations. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval of the budget amendment.
