BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 16, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: TDC Member Reclassification (Matern) DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 2,4,5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to reclassify Melissa Matern to a Lodging Industry Owner/Operator member of the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council. BACKGROUND: Melissa Matern was appointed by the Board as a Tourism Related Industry Member for a four (4) year term starting October 1, 2015 and ending September 30, 2019. Ms. Matern has accepted a position with ResortQuest, and therefore should be reclassified as a Lodging Industry Owner/Operator member of the Council. Given the current composition of the Council, Ms. Matern’s reclassification from a non-lodging representative to a lodging representative is still in compliance with the statutory requirement of no more than four lodging industry members. OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove RECOMMENDATION: Approve and adopt the proposed Resolution reclassifying Melissa Matern to a Lodging Industry Owner/Operator member of the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council.
