STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of Task Order 1 with World Fiber Technologies,
Inc. (Reference World Fiber Technologies, Inc. proposed contract on the December 1, 2015
agenda.)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On November 3, 2015 two (2) bids were presented to the
Board and staff requested approval to award contracts for telecommunications maintenance of
the fiber optic network to World Fiber Technologies, Inc. and Creek Enterprise, Inc. Staff has
prepared the contracts and they are on the December 1, 2015 agenda requesting Board approval.
It was critical for the Camp Rudder and Courthouse projects that Task Order 1, which is in
accordance with the proposed World Fiber Technologies, Inc. contract on this agenda, be
approved at the same meeting to prevent any delay of work. Task Order 1 has been reviewed by
Purchasing staff and is in accordance with the proposed contract. Upon approval of the proposed
contract and Task Order 1, the Purchasing Manager and County Administrator will sign prior to
the Chairman. Staff requests approval of Task Order 1, contingent upon approval of the World
Fiber Contract, Inc. referenced on the December 1, 2015 meeting agenda, and authorization for
the Chairman to sign the Task Order.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny Task Order 1 contingent upon the proposed World Fiber
Technologies, Inc. contract approval on the December 1, 2015 meeting agenda and approve
authorization for the Chairman to sign the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of Task Order 1 contingent upon the
proposed World Fiber Technologies, Inc. contract approval on the December 1, 2015 meeting
