We would like to hold a medieval fighting tournament November 13-15 at Baker Area Recreation Arena for the Society of Creative Anachronism. We are a branch of an international non-profit, educational organization designed as a hands-on, learn by doing model to research and recreate the European life prior to 1600. Unlike renaissance fairs, we do not hold events open to the public. The style of tournament is medieval European martial arts, with appropriate safety gear, authorized members and safety marshals. There will be no pets or animals present with the exception of service animals. There is a possibility of vendors but we do not know how many to estimate at this time. We estimate to have about 250 people but will have a more accurate number closer to the time of the event. The deposit has been paid and the contract has been signed; the hold harmless agreement and insurance certificate will follow shortly.
