Smithsonian will provide expertise in camera trapping and surveys of wildlife populations to school
community in Okaloosa County School District, Florida. Smithsonian will share Ecology and Science
learning to the school population using our website eMammal and a system of camera traps collecting
wildlife images county-wide. They will help maintain volunteer teams to disperse and retrieve cameras
in approved locations, including training of volunteers and tracking progress. They will provide expert
review of all images provided by volunteers to ensure correct species identification. Smithsonian will

functionality of the eMammal website by maintaining the site integrity and conduct security upgrades
and patches as needed to allow the site to be used to upload data from volunteers and to provide
county-based data to the school curriculum lessons. They will advise the School District on any
curriculum developed that includes wildlife images and the eMammal tool.
