Dear James,
Baker Area Recreation Association, Inc. (BARA) has requested an updated utility tractor and
was informed the current year budget included a 40 hp tractor that included a front end
loader. BARA board reviewed the needs and the use of this tractor and determined that a 5@hp
tractor would better serve our needs. A 56hp tractor with its overall weight will handle the
front end loader attachment more effectively than the smaller 40 hp tractor. The current
tractor in use at the Baker Facility is a 65 hp tractor which is 20 plus years old and is
used daily to drag and condition the arena footing. A 5@ hp tractor could fill in when the
existing tractor is down and needs repair. BARA feels a 40 hp tractor would not serve the
needs of the facility without over working the equipment and shortening the life of the
tractor. BARA will cover the difference between the budgeted amount and actual cost of a 50
hp tractor if needed.
BARA respectfully requests a 50 hp tractor for the Baker recreation facility.
