BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: March 3, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Chief Petty Officers Association for the Naval School EOD SUBJECT: Public Event Permit - EOD Memorial Challenge STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Chief Petty Officers Association for Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal is requesting a Public Event Permit to raise funds for Wounded EOD Warriors and their families. BACKGROUND: This is the tenth year for the EOD Memorial Challenge. The event will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The course will run along Range Road to Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park with a swim under the Highway 20 bridge, then down the sidewalk along State Highway 20 to Bay Drive and down to L.J. Schooners Dockside. This request is being coordinated with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office who will be providing assistance with traffic during the event. OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval for a Public Event Permit for the EOD Memorial Challenge as submitted by the Chief Petty Officers Association for Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
