STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request BCC approval of Deductive Change Order 14-12 for
Contract C12-1995-FM with Lord & Son Construction, Inc for the Okaloosa County
Administrative Building in the amount of $33,598.30.
BACKGROUND: Contract C12-1995-FM for the construction of the Okaloosa County
Administrative Building in Shalimar began with a Guarantee Maximum Price (GMP) of
$11,093,394.00. By utilizing owner direct purchases, maximizing existing resources and other
cost saving measures the contractual GMP due to Lord & Son has been reduced to $8,935,851.09
through eleven (11) previous change orders.
With the work on site complete and the building operational a final change order has been
prepared that will bring the revised GMP with Lord & Son to $8,902,252.79.
This final change order returns unused funds from the construction price in the amount of
$33,598.30. These funds came from savings in the General Requirements and Contingency
portions of the construction contract.
OPTIONS: Approve/dissaprove Changer Order 14-12 for Contract C12-1995-FM with Lord &
Son Construction, Inc to reduce the contract price to $8,902,252.79 (a reduction of $33,598.30
from the current contract price).
