STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to award the bid to Hub City Ford for four (4)
2015 ½ ton extended cab short wheel base pickup trucks.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Water & Sewer requested to purchase four (4) 2015 ½ ton
extended cab short wheel base (SWB) pickup trucks. Bids were due on January 14th, 2015 and 4
(four) bids were received. Department representatives from Fleet and Water & Sewer have
reviewed the bids and determined that Hub City Ford was the lowest most responsive bidder at a
price of $103,196.00 ($25,799 each). Staff requests approval to award the bid to Hub City Ford
for the four (4) new ½ ton extended cab SWB pickup trucks. Funds were approved during the
budget process for $25,000 for each of the four (4) trucks. The Water & Sewer Department
previously ordered a Sewer Vactor truck and the purchase price came in $25,370 below the
budgeted amount. Water & Sewer has requested a budget transfer to cover the $3196 overage on
the trucks from the funds remaining with the Sewer Vactor truck purchase. A requisition will be
processed when/if the Board approves the award of the bid.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove award of bid to Hub City Ford for the four (4) new ½ ton
extended cab SWB pickup trucks for $103,196.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends award of bid to Hub City Ford for four (4) new ½
ton extended cab SWB pickup trucks for $103,196.00.
