STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the contract renewal with True North
Emergency Management, LLC for disaster debris removal monitoring services.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On January 1, 2012, Okaloosa County entered into an
agreement with True North Emergency Management, LLC for disaster debris removal
monitoring services. The contract provides monitoring of debris removal from public rights-of-
way and public property, monitoring the reduction and disposal sites, as well as roving monitors
to assure debris management plan and contracts are effectively implemented. This contract will
expire on December 31, 2015; however, the contract has an option for one (1) additional three
(3) year renewal. Public Works staff and True North Emergency Management, LLC desire to
exercise the renewal option extending the contract to December 31, 2018.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the renewal with True North Emergency Management, LLC for
Disaster Debris Monitoring Services and authorize the Chairman to sign the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the renewal with True North
Emergency Management, LLC for disaster debris monitoring services and authorize the
Chairman to sign the contract/lease renewal form.
