The Okaloosa County School District offers a Foundations of Web Design course in all
the middle and high school programs. The course affords the opportunity for students
to take the CIW Site Development Associate certification exam. This year, the
individual schools would like to purchase the online curriculum for the students to use
in their classrooms to assist the students in studying for and passing the certification
exam. The curriculum will be purchased through Perkins Grant Funds. In order for the
schools to be eligible to use the online curriculum, Certification Partners requires The
Okaloosa County School District to enter into the CIW Academy Agreement that gives
the schools the sole use and benefit of a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license
to use and reproduce in copy the copyrighted Official CIW Curriculum for classroom

Public Content
Annually the school district receives a number of requests from colleges and
universities across the country to allow their students to come to Okaloosa
County to obtain field experience in the classroom and/or student teaching
opportunities as part of their teacher education programs. By delegating to
the Superintendent the authority to approve and sign contracts with the
requesting colleges and universities, it will expedite the placement of these
students. The School Board Attorney has developed a standard contract that
is used, in most instances, for these requests and will continue to review all
such contracts before they are forwarded to the Superintendent for
signature.
