BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 2, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Approval to submit application for the Shirley Conroy Rural Area Capital Assistance Program Grant DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Growth Management requests permission to submit an application to the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged for the Shirley Conroy Rural Area Capital Assistance Program Grant. BACKGROUND: The Shirley Conroy Rural Area Capital Assistance Program Grant provides assistance to purchase Capital equipment and vehicles that serve rural areas of the State of Florida. This Grant application would fund the purchase of five (5) wheelchair accessible Ford Transit vehicles with three (3) wheelchair spaces and seven (7) passenger seats. Also requested are funds for Graphics for each vehicle which includes bus wrap of the EC Rider Logo. The required Local Match is 10% of the total project cost. Local Match will come from Program Income that's been earned through contracts for transportation service. No BoCC General Funds are requested. OPTIONS: Approve or disapprove the request to submit the Shirley Conroy Rural Area Capital Assistance Program Grant application for capital assistance. RECOMMENDATIONS: Growth Management recommends the Board approve the application for the Shirley Conroy Rural Area Capital Assistance Program Grant and the accompanying Resolution and requests that the Chairman be authorized to sign the grant application with accompanying resolution, the grant agreement if awarded, as well as all future grant documents that may be required during the term of the grant.
