BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: November 17, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jeff Littrell SUBJECT: Lease - Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel DEPARTMENT: Water and Sewer BCC DISTRICT: District 3 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Okaloosa County Water & Sewer (OCWS) staff requests Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approval of a new Lease Agreement between OCWS and Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel for a period of seven months beginning December 1, 2015 and terminating on June 30, 2016. This lease may be extended with three additional terms of one year each. The office is located on the second floor of the Water and Sewer building. Staff also requests approval to terminate current lease. BACKGROUND: The Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel has leased offices in the Water & Sewer building since 2012. They have requested to move into another suite (1,250 net square feet) on the 2nd floor of the Water & Sewer Building (previously occupied by Clerk of the Court's Contracts & Grants Office). The lease language has been updated by the County Attorney. The current annual rent for this lease will be $18,562.50, payable as monthly payments of $1,546.88. For your review and consideration, the proposed Lease Agreement is attached, along with two addenda and the County Contract Review Coordination Sheet. OPTIONS: Approve or deny the Lease Agreement with Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval by the BCC to authorize the Chairman to execute the Lease Agreement with Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel for a term through 6/30/2016 with the option of three one-year renewals.
