BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: November 17, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: Coleen Marine Contract Extension DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 2,4,5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of a change order to extend the termination date by 60 days to December 30, 2015 for the Artificial Reef Construction Project, Coleen Marine contract C15-2326-TDD. BACKGROUND: RFB TDD 47-15 for construction of two marine artificial reefs using Eglin AFB concrete materials was awarded to Coleen Marine, Inc. in August, with a contract expiration date of October 31 and the option of an extension of up to an additional 60 days. The project is partially funded by a Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission grant that expires at the end of this calendar year. Due to unforeseen contractor delays, the project is still in progress. These delays were not known in time to request an extension prior to contract expiration on October 31. Staff requests Board approval to exercise a 60 day extension to complete the project within the time frame allowed by the grant. There is no financial impact with this change order. OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove RECOMMENDATION: Approve a change order to extend the termination date by 60 days to December 30, 2015 for the Artificial Reef Construction Project, Coleen Marine contract C15- 2326-TDD, and authorize Chairman to sign the change order.
