BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 18, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Dan Sambenedetto SUBJECT: Final Payment CenturyLink C07-1468-IS DEPARTMENT: Information Technology BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Okaloosa County Information Technology (IT) Department staff requests Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approval of a final payment in the amount of $3,673.68 to CenturyLink on contract C07-1468-IS. BACKGROUND: BCC entered into contract C07-1468-IS with CenturyLink effective 02/06/2007. This contract expired on 08/24/2016. Purchasing is currently assisting IT with a solution to the expired contract. IT has been working on a new contract mechanism with CenturyLink for the past six months but CenturyLink has been largely unresponsive. IT will continue to receive invoices for BCC Centrex, local phone service, and ISDN PRI service to various county locations from CenturyLink. We will be paying these invoices by direct pay until a new contract is in place. The funds have been budgeted for these invoices and will be paid out of the appropriate budgeted accounts. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board approve this final payment for CenturyLink in the amount of $3,673.68.
