BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: March 15, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Public Event Permit - EOD Memorial Challenge 2016 DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Chief Petty Officers Association for Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal is requesting a Public Event Permit to raise funds for Wounded EOD Warriors and their families. BACKGROUND: This is the tenth year for the EOD Memorial Challenge. The event will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The course will run along Range Road to Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park with a swim under the Highway 20 bridge, then down the sidewalk along State Highway 20 to Bay Drive and down to L.J. Schooners Dockside. This request is being coordinated with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office who will be providing assistance with traffic during the event. OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove request for a Public Event Permit for the EOD Memorial Challenge. RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval for a Public Event Permit for the EOD Memorial Challenge as submitted by the Chief Petty Officers Association for Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
