STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Purchasing requests Board approval to award the bid to Anderson
Columbia for the Fairchild Road Improvements. (RFB 16-16 PW)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On March 2, 2016 two (2) bids were received for the
Fairchild Road Improvements. Staff has reviewed the bids and determined Anderson Columbia
Company, Incorporated to be the lowest responsive bidder at a price of $1,689,651.64. Funding
is available in the capital budget for this project. Staff requests approval to award the bid for the
Fairchild Road Improvements to Anderson Columbia Company, Incorporated.
This project includes the asphalt paving of Fairchild Road in Crestview, Florida from County Road
188 (Airport Road) south to the existing pavement at the entrance to L-3 Aerospace. The total
length of project is approximately 1.82 miles and includes associated drainage improvements,
signing and striping. The term of the contract is proposed at 240 calendar days. The contract will
be brought before the Board for approval.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny award of the bid to Anderson Columbia Company, Incorporated for
the Fairchild Road Improvements for a price of $1,689,651.64.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to award of the bid to Anderson Columbia
Company, Incorporated for the Fairchild Road Improvements for a price of $1,689,651.64.
