BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: May 19, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: Aramark contract amendment DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval for Chairman to sign Amendment 1 to Aramark Sports and Entertainment Services Agreement, contract C14-2185 TDD. BACKGROUND: The current contract expires June 2, 2015 and provides for three (3) one-year extensions. Pursuant to County purchasing policy, contracts are reviewed prior to expiration to determine if renewal or re-bid is required. Staff recommends executing a seven (7) month contract extension through January 2, 2016 to align contract renewal cycles with a period of slow activity at the convention center. The Tourist Development Council recommended a seven-month contract extension at its March 26, 2015 meeting. Additionally, since contract inception the County has identified pricing that should be incorporated into the contract to improve fee transparency as well as the booking process for clients. OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove RECOMMENDATION: Approve Amendment 1 to Aramark Sports and Entertainment Services Agreement, contract C14-2185 TDD, and authorize the Chairman to sign.
