BACKGROUND: The total cost for the audio system within the new courtroom is $34,000. The audio equipment is required to conduct court proceedings. The video conferencing unit at the Okaloosa County Jail has reached end-of-life and needs to be replaced. This unit is used for inmate video first appearances with the court. The cost of a new system is $7,500. The court’s new paperless judicial viewer software allows for remote access to all court records and processes. Laptop computers are needed by the court to conduct work when offsite. This expense is $17,000. 1
