STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Okaloosa County Water & Sewer (OCWS) staff requests Board of
County Commissioners (BCC) approval of the renewal of the Lease Agreement between
Okaloosa County and Coastal States Contractors, Inc. at 1310 Oddfellow Road -Unit D, Fort
Walton Beach, Florida. This unit is located in a building owned by Okaloosa County Water &
Sewer.
BACKGROUND: Lease #L16-0424-WS with Coastal States Contractors, Inc. is scheduled to
terminate on December 31, 2016. However, the lease language allows for 2 additional one year
renewals and the tenant has expressed a desire to continue to occupy the space. OCWS requests
Board authorization for the Chairman to execute the lease renewal form for an additional year
(01/01/2017 - 12/31/2017). The annual rent for this lease will be $5,088.00, payable as 12-
$424.00 monthly payments, including tax.
OPTIONS: Approve or deny the request to renew the Lease with Jeff Hendrix of Coastal States
Contractors, Inc. effective January 1, 2017 and terminating on December 31, 2017.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval by the BCC to authorize the Chairman
to execute the Lease renewal with Jeff Hendrix of Coastal States Contractors, Inc. for an annual
lease total of $5,088.00, payable as 12- $424.00 monthly payments including tax.
