AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ANNEXING INTO THE CITY LIMITS OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA A PARCEL OF LAND SITUATED IN .. THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THE ORDINANCE WITH A PHYSICAL ADDRESS OF 233 RILL AVENUE NORTHWEST, IN FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR MUNICIPAL BOUNDARY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Aut6ority and Intent The authority for enactment of this ordinance is contained in Chapter 166. 021( 1), and i Section 171. 044 of the Florida Statutes, and Section 2 of the City Charter. Secrion 2. Findings of Fact The Ciry Council of the City of Fort Walton Beach hereby finds the following: The City received an application for voluntary annexation from ECM Consultants, Inc., on behalf of Destiny Worship Center, Inc. The applicant has provided sufficient evidence of ovmership of said property to be annexed. The subject property is contiguous to the municipal boundaries of the City of Fort Walton Beach, is an area that is reasonably compact, and is unincorporated territory. The annexation of subject property will not result in the creation of any enclaves. The notice of annexation was duly published once a week for two consecutive weeks in the Northwest Florida Daily News, a newspaper published within the City of FoR Walton Beach. Upon adoption, this ordinance will be filed with the Clerk of the Court of Okaloosa County, the Okaloosa County Administrator, and the Fiorida Department of State. Section 3. Eroperty Annexed The following described property is hereby annexed into the City of Fort Walton Beach: A PARCEL OF LAND IN SECTION S, TOWNSHIP 2 SOUTH, R.ANGE 24 WEST, OKALOOSA COiJNTY FLORIDA, BEING MORE EXPLICITLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT TNE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 8, TOWNSHIP 2 SOUTH, RANGE 24 WEST, OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROCEED WEST 1964. 00 FEET TO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF WILDWOOD I i PARK SUBDIVISION AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 3, PAGE 47 PUBLIC RECORD OKALOOSA COUNTY,' FLORIDA;. THENCE NORTH O1° 33' 27" EAST ON THE WEST BOUNDARY THEREOF, 939. 00 EEET TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF WILDWOOD PARK SUBDIVISION; THENCE NORTH O1° 30' S0" EAST 380.27 FEET TO THE NORTH LINE OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER . OF SAID SECTION 8 FOR A POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE ON SAID NORTH LINE, SOUTH 8$° 40' 34" EAST 955. 55 FEET TO A POINT ON THE WEST 50 FOOT RIGHT OF WAY L1NE OF HILL AVENUE NORTHWEST ALSO KNOWN AS MARTIN LUTHER K1NG JR. The total actual acreage of above described property is 13. 85 acres. At the time of the annexation there are no housing unit located on Parcel Number: 08- 2 5- 24- 0000- 0004- 0020 Section 4. Effect of Annexation The area annexed shall be subject to all laws, ordinances, and regulations in force in the City of Fort Walton Beach and shall be entitled to the same privileges and benefits as other parts of the City of Fort Walton Beach upon the effective date of the arinexation. The area annexed is subject to the Okaloosa County Comprehensive Plan and zoning regulations. Said regulations shall remain in full force and effect until the subject property is designated into a City of Fort Walton Beach Compreherisive Plan Future Land Use Map designation and rezoned accordingly in the City of Fort Walton Beach zoning map. Section 5. Municipal Boundary The municipal boundary lines of the City of Fort Walton Beach shall be amended to include the annexed property described in this ordinance and in tlie attached " Location Map."
